Owners Paul and Diane Russell oversee every project, and a small team of master craftspeople bring each unique design to life.

Having worked in construction for over 30 years, Paul and Diane – who were invited to the Queen’s Garden Party in 2017 in recognition of Paul’s work in the industry – have always been interested in sailing. In 2015, he built his first narrowboat, and with his keen eye for detail, Paul’s skills soon became well known in the area.
Russell Narrowboats was launched in 2019, and the team have been creating bespoke narrowboat designs ever since. Working from their boatyard in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, every detail is carefully crafted to provide the very best experience, with requests now being received from all over the globe for narrowboats from Russell Narrowboats.
We treat each boat like it’s our own
As a small team, we only ever work on one or two boats at a time so we can give your project the undivided attention it deserves.
Each of our talented craftspeople will be available to support you every step of the way, and we even provide regular personal updates so you know exactly what is happening and can be involved at every stage of the transformation.

All our work comes having successfully completed a full three-point inspection from the Boat Safety Scheme and is delivered with a 12-month guarantee. This means you can always be sure of the highest quality and can sail off knowing that all our work has been independently checked to the highest standard.
